Mission and values
The Federation of Young Serbs in Europe, founded on 27 January 2023 under the name “European Roots”, was renamed on 20 April 2024.
Officially recognised on 10 January 2023, its primary mission is to promote Serbian culture, history, and Franco-Serbian friendship among young people.
Among its first initiatives were the production of documentaries highlighting Serbian monuments and heritage sites in Paris.
Our mission
To promote and strengthen the cultural, historical, and friendly ties between France, Europe, and Serbia by raising young people’s awareness of our shared heritage and encouraging them to actively preserve and promote it.

We aspire to be recognised as a leading organisation for young people through the promotion of Franco-Serbian culture and the development of a dynamic and inclusive network that transcends borders and generations.
Our Purpose
To foster international friendships between Serbia and the countries in which our members reside, including France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other European nations.

The Founding of the FJSE
The Federation of Young Serbs in Europe (FJSE) was founded on 27 January 2023 under the name “European Roots”, a name that was changed following the Association’s General Assembly on 20 April 2024.
The organisation was officially recognised and published in the French Official Journal on 10 January 2023. The founders and first members of European Roots were Nemanja Dimitrijević, President of the Association, and Marko Gojković, Vice-President and Treasurer.
Our primary objective is to promote Serbian culture, history, and Franco-Serbian friendship amongst young people, particularly those who may be unfamiliar with our rich and shared cultural heritage.
Amongst our first initiatives were documentary projects focusing on the Monument to King Alexander I in Paris and the Serbian Military Cemetery in Thiais. Our first promotional event took place on 16 March 2023 at the Serbian Cultural Centre in Paris.

We aspire to be recognised as a leading youth organisation through the promotion of Franco-Serbian culture and the development of a dynamic and inclusive network that transcends borders and generations.
FJSE's Core Values
The core values of the Federation of Young Serbs in Europe (FJSE) include the promotion of cultural diversity, respect for historical traditions, and the development of international friendships. We firmly believe in the importance of intercultural exchange and cooperation amongst young people from different European countries as a means of strengthening Franco-Serbian relations and contributing to a united and harmonious Europe.
